These Bloody Mary mussels are sure to be a big hit! They’re super easy and you can go nuts with the garnishes, just like you’d do for your favorite Bloody Mary’s!
Bloody Mary Mussels
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS;
2lbs Fresh Mussels, cleaned
1 Cup Onion, chopped
1 Cup Celery, chopped
2Tbsp Vodka (optional)
2Tbsp Sherry Vinegar
1 Cup Clam Juice
2 Cups Bloody Mary Mix
1Tsp Worchestershire Sauce
Hot Sauce (optional)
Sport Peppers (or other Bloody Mary garnishes)
Fresh Cilantro or Parsley
Salt & Pepper
2 Tbsp oil
DIRECTIONS:
Add oil to a large hot pan and then add onions and celery. Cook until they just begin to soften
Add vodka (optional) and sherry vinegar and cook until reduced
Add clam juice, bloody mary mix, worchestershire sauce, and hot sauce (optional). Cook until until it comes to a simmer
Add mussels in a nice single layer and cover. Simmer until all of the mussels have completely opened 3-5 minutes. Discard any mussels that don't open
Add mussels to a large serving dish and garnish with sport peppers, other garnishes as desired, and fresh cilantro or parsley
